Scott is editor and publisher of Photoshop User magazine and Layers magazine (the how-to magazine for everything Adobe). He also is the president and co-founder of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) and president of the software training, education, and publishing firm Kelby Media Group.
Scott is a photographer, designer, and an award-winning author of more than 40 books, including Photoshop Lightroom Book for Digital Photographers, The Photoshop CS3 Book for Digital Photographers, The 7-Point System, The Photoshop Channels Book, Photoshop Classic Effects, and The Digital Photography Book.
Since 2004, Scott has been awarded the distinction of being the world’s #1 best–selling author of all computer and technology books, across all categories. Bert Monroy is considered one of the pioneers of digital art. He co-authored The Official Adobe Photoshop Handbook, which was the first book on Photoshop and the only one for almost 2 years. He has authored and co-authored many books since. His current book, Photoshop Studio with Bert Monroy: Digital Painting, concentrates on the techniques he’s developed in the creation of his work. He is a contributing columnist for Photoshop User and Layer’s magazines, and has lectured at many institutions and conferences around the world. He has appeared on many television shows internationally and for three and a half years, he was a monthly regular on The Screen Savers show on TechTV. He currently hosts a weekly podcast for Revision3 called Pixel Perfect that has been running for over three years. Bert has also done a considerable amount of film work for Industrial Light & Magic, Pacific Data Images and R/Greenberg Assoc. Bert was inducted into NAPP’s Photoshop Hall of Fame in 2004.

From 1994 until 1998, he was LIFE magazine’s staff photographer, the first one in 23 years. His most well known series is the “Faces of Ground Zero” Giant Polaroid Collection, a collection of 246 giant Polaroid portraits shot in the Moby c Studio near Ground Zero in a three-week period shortly after 9/11. A large group of these historic, compelling life-size (9×4″) photos were exhibited in seven cities in 2002, seen by almost a million people. The sale of 55,000 copies of the exhibit book, printed by LIFE, raised over $2 million for the 9/11 relief effort. This collection is considered by many museum and art professionals to be the most significant artistic endeavor to evolve to date from the 9/11 tragedy.
McNally is known worldwide for his ability to produce technically and logistically complex assignments with expert use of color and light.
